Robert J. Curtis is Of Counsel to Horwitz + Armstrong, A Professional Law Corporation, practicing in the area of business transactions and with particular focus on matters related to highly regulated sectors such as healthcare, consumer financial services, entertainment and internet content production and winemaking & wine distribution. Related practice areas include entity formation, mergers & acquisitions, real estate transactions, EB-5 investment vehicles, ERISA plan structures, intellectual property (trademarks & copyright) and related matters.

Mr. Curtis is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles (B.A. with honors, Business Economics, 1985) and of Pepperdine University School of Law (J.D. 1989). Mr. Curtis was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1989 and the State Bar of Colorado in 2000. From 1993 and through his association with Horwitz + Armstrong, Mr. Curtis was founder of the Irvine, California law firm Curtis Law Group, a firm comprised of up to 8 attorneys practicing in business and real estate transactions and Chapter 11 reorganizations and turnarounds, with additional focus on business, real estate and consumer financial services litigation. Prior to that, Mr. Curtis was an associate of Prindle, Decker & Amaro in Long Beach, California practicing in the area of business litigation. Before admission to the California Bar, Mr. Curtis was employed as both private accountant and licensed securities representative at various firms.

Mr. Curtis has been admitted at various times to all Districts of the U.S. Federal District Court of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth and Tenth Circuits, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
